PhotoCraft (ArtCraft) pricing

Promising but alpha. PCMag (Oct 22 2026) rates it ~80–90% of Photoshop with CMYK and adjustment layers, weaker auto-masking and no generative fill. Legal: reverse engineering is generally legal, but Adobe's ToS, patents and trade dress are open risks; no Adobe action as of mid-Oct (Declic Media). Ethics of AI cloning are debated.

Best for: Tinkerers; not yet for weekly production

Pros: Free, opens PSDs; Cross-platform + browser

Cons: Alpha quality; Legal/trade-dress uncertainty; Malware-laden fake download sites

Pros

• Faster than Photoshop on simple batch jobs (20-image batch <40 s vs 1:23) in one creator test source
• Curves, levels and adjustment layers with masks work smoothly; most filters present source

Cons

• PSDs saved by PhotoCraft were rejected by Photoshop; text layers broke layout source
• Loses to Photoshop on complex composites and object removal source
• Developer says it's 'not anywhere close to ready'; beta is 1,100–1,800 h away source
