Every Monday our comms volunteer has the same job: turn a 40-minute sermon into a week of posts. That's exactly where AI tools shine.
Clips: Sermonshots and SermonDone are built for churches, while OpusClip is a general-purpose tool. All three find short moments in the sermon video and turn them into vertical clips. Sermonshots and OpusClip both have free tiers to try.
Captions and transcripts: Descript lets you edit video by editing the transcript, and Otter.ai gives you transcripts of meetings and messages. Transcripts also make a sermon accessible to people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and you can turn them into blog posts.
Graphics and posts: Canva's Magic Studio and Church Social can draft graphics and captions from your sermon. Edit the captions so they sound like your church, not a brand account.
Always review before posting. Make sure clips aren't cut in a way that changes what the pastor meant, and get permission before showing kids or people who might not want to be online.
